Dear Independence,
I write to mourn your death. It is sad that no one has realized that you no longer exist amongst us. We celebrated your birthday without understanding what you mean to us. I want to apologise for this sad state of yours.
I know you came to us after a hard struggle but you seem to have gone away effortlessly. We are responsible for not been able to hold on to you and to understand you.
Today, I regret your loss and I miss your presence.Today, all of us pretend to have you while, on the contrary, we are prisoners. We smile on the outside and cry inside. We say something and do something else. We do not have the independence to show our true personality but we use your name and project a fake personality to the world. We have lost you. We are no longer original. We do not smile from the heart and the eyes but from the face. We are not true to ourselves and have become busy trying to 'put on' a so- called independent identity.
We do not have the freedom to choose what we want to do and we accept what is given to us. We do not complain or cry from the heart but from the face and for the sake of it.
It is indeed your death because we no longer have the independence to be ourselves!
We put on the fake identity and curb our freedom to be ourselves, to please others and get what we want. And in the process, we lose the feeling of being what we actually are.
Please come back to us. We need to celebrate your presence in us!
Love,
Human mind.
